What is Comparative Certification?
If your officer has received basic training in another state or while employed as a police officer, he may not necessarily need to go through the entire basic training curriculum; he/she may be eligible for a status of Comparative Compliance. Training may not begin prior to council approval of the probationary candidate.

When you are in receipt of the eligibility letter from POSTC for your officer(s) to participate in comparative certification training, we can start scheduling instructors immediately. In an effort to keep your cost down, we try to coordinate these trainings with as many departments as possible.
